Dear Gurmeet,
I am in a well here & hope you are in the same well there. I am writing this letter slowly, because I know you cannot read fast.
We don't live where we did earlier. I read in the newspaper that most accidents occur in 20 miles from home, so we have moved to an area 20 miles away. This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine, right above the commode. I am not too sure if it works well, though last week I put in 3 shirts, pulled the chain & have not seen them since. Your brother has a new job. He has 500 men under him. He is mowing the lawns of a cemetry. I took bahu to our club's swimming pool. The manager is V.badmash, I must say! He told her that a 2-piece swim-suit was not allowed in the club. We were confused - which piece to remove? Your sister had her baby this morning. I don't know whether it is a girl or a boy, so I don't know whether you are an Aunt or an Uncle. Your Uncle Satvinder fell in a nearby well. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off bravely & drowned. We have cremated him - he burnt for 3 days. Not much news this time ......
Love,
Father
